2005 Mazda RX8 ran out of gas now filled tank but wont start. does it take a while for fuel to reenter the?

2005 Mazda RX 8 Ran out of gas. We filled the tank and now it wont start. It turns over but wont fire. Do rotary engines have a hard time starting after the line and the fuel injection ports have been run dry? Any Ideas?|||You may have burned out your fuel pump.

Fuel pumps use the gas to lubricate and cool their parts. When you run out of gas completely the pump can overheat and fail

Also, the RX8 uses a "sock" over the pumps entrance to filter the fuel. You may simply have sucked a lot of gunk onto it and it's now clogged so no gas can pass through.|||My 2008 RX8 once ran out of gas on the hi-way, when the low fuel light comes on you have less than 20 miles before it will run out of gas and I was used to my F-150 which i can drive all day when the light is on before getting gas. The f-150 low fule warning light comes on when you are at like 5 gallons left but the RX8 has no mercy and little wiggle room. I had to walk to a gas station and fill a can with gas but it started right up.|||i ranned my rx8 out gas in july and gad 2 tow it 2 mazda cuz it wouldnt start they started doing this and that but ended changing my engine all covered by there warrenty expect the new ingtion coils put in but yea might need a new motor|||did u let it sit overnight like that?

%26amp; how do u run out of gas they have gas gauge lol

but its probably not getting gas to the engine check fuel pump|||turn the key on to "on" position several times so, you can refill your lines.|||fuel pump is most likely done
