It is useful for finding out what you want to know as well as seeing prices as well as what is close by. There are many other yards across the states and some are cheaper. Also a salvage yard may have one that is not in the online inventory, so call around too.
http://car-part.com/|||I know that they used that motor in the 626 during that time frame. Probably the MX6, Ford Probe, Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique also.
Basically speaking when you're looking for a used motor:
First, find a yard that specializes in the motor your looking for (some yards only deal in imported cars, some don't, some deal in whatever gets brought in).
Secondly- You just tell them your looking for a Ford/Mazda 2.5 V6. You don't really have to give them much more than that Unless they ask you for more info. Because, let's say you're looking for an engine for a Toyota Corolla - you may get a break on the price by saying it's for a Geo Spectrum.
Good rule of thumb - don't give anymore info then you have to and (your doing it now) Do a little research.|||You need the 2.5 from the 626/MX-6. (The one from the Contour/Mystique twins won't quite match up.)
